Going private???

I've been toying with the idea of making this blog private, which would mean only invited friends or family would be able to view it. I just wanted to get some feedback to see what you all thought about it. I would give warning before doing it so you'd have time to send me your email so I could add you to the list. But I honestly have no idea how many people actually read our blog so I'm wondering if it's even worth it. I dunno, what do you all think?

Well I've just recently started reading it since you posted the info but I'd love to go along if you private up. :)

Personally I'm a big fan of airing everything to the world. I have nothing interesting to say or hide and thrive on the random people I meet who come visiting me.

I totally understand some people's desires to be private though.

I have been wondering the same thing about our site lately, for safety's sake. However, my site is already SO spread out in this country, that I think it might be too late. Besides, people go to my site as a resource for adoption, etc. and I would hate to take that away.

For your situation, I guess you would have to decide what's more important. If your main focus is to just keep loved ones informed and updated, then I would say go private. If you "forget" someone, or if someone who is close to someone else ON the list....they could get that info from them. However, if you want it to be a site where people you don't know can stumble across it, meeting some new web friends, then that would be another story. What concerns me about your spot is that there are several countries that have visited it (according to the homepage graphic)....who is reading your site from all those countries? That was strange. I don't know. I guess I didn't help much afterall.
